No experience necessary!
Cape Town Rollergirls and a team of experienced coaches aim to teach you all the basics of quad roller skating, including:
How to stop and fall safely
Skating forward and how to do cross-overs
Backward skating and 180° turns
and so much more!
Our course is great for skaters who want to get more comfortable on their skates, people who want to learn the basics of roller derby, groups of friends, and complete beginners.
ALL AGES OVER 16 WELCOME.
Each course is 12 weeks long.
Lessons are every Thursday from 7-9pm and coaches take you through a thorough programme to teach you each skill needed in a considered timeframe.
Self practice on the sidelines is available every Tuesday evening from 7-9pm.
Time: 7–9pm (Thursdays & Tuesdays)
Duration: Approximately 12 weeks with 12 lessons and 12 self practice sessions
(24 opportunities to skate)
Location: Sunningdale Sports Complex (Blouberg area)
Course fee: R400 per month (billed monthly)
Additional cost to rent skates and/or protective gear: R120 per month (billed monthly)
Please note that skates & safety gear fee covers rental for self practice evenings as well.
Helmets + Safety Gear are mandatory.
Please note: we have created a safe and supportive environment for women in this programme, and currently only accepting applications from womxn and members of the LGBTQIA+ community at this point.
