Roller Derby (Love) Festival Weekend 13 – 15 February

Dear Fans, Friends, Lovers & Haters:
Our Roller Derby league, together with Golden City Rollers is hosting a Roller Derby (Love) Festival Weekend, and you’re invited to come and watch Roller Derby & join us for a Valentine’s Roller Disco!

 Tickets:

Weekend Pass: R130 Includes access to THREE roller derby games + our Valentine’s Roller Disco
Day Passes: R80 per day (Friday only / Saturday only / Sunday only)

What’s happening over the Derby Love Festival weekend?

• Skaters from our league will be joined by skaters from Golden City Rollers (Johannesburg) as well as skaters from Norway, coming together for Roller Derby Bootcamp led by Freight Train, a USA roller derby player.
• Two mixed scrimmages on Friday and Saturday (think of these as friendly games with skaters from different leagues playing together).
• A Valentine’s themed Roller Disco on Saturday evening!
• A WFTDA-sanctioned game on Sunday between Iron Meisies (Charter Team) vs Golden City Rollers Charter Team.

Event Schedule

Friday: Open Gender Game (higher-level game). Game starts at 18:00pm, we suggest arriving at 17:30pm so you don’t miss any of the action.
Saturday: Rookie Game starts at 16:30pm, we suggest arriving at 16:00pm so you don’t miss any of the action. Also includes Valentine’s Roller Disco from 19:00pm – 22:00pm
Sunday: Iron Meisies vs Golden City Rollers!!! Game starts at 12:00pm, we suggest arriving at 11:30am so you don’t miss any of the action!

Disco deets:
Love is in the air – wear your best heart breaker fit and dance the night away.

 R80 gives you entrance to the disco!

Skate rentals for the Roller Disco = R70 per hour, each skating slot starts on the hour from 7-10pm.

We have safety gear available as well.
