Learn to skate with Cape Town Rollergirls – rental skates and gear included in your prize.

No experience necessary! 

Cape Town Rollergirls and a team of experienced coaches aim to teach you all the basics of quad roller skating, including:

How to stop and fall safely
Skating forward and how to do cross-overs
Backward skating and 180° turns
and so much more!

Our course is great for skaters who want to get more comfortable on their skates, people who want to learn the basics of roller derby, groups of friends, and complete beginners.

ALL AGES OVER 16 WELCOME.

About This Fundraiser

Cape Town Rollergirls is a registered non-profit organisation that teaches women how to roller skate and play roller derby.
This competition has been created to help raise funds for our charter team to travel overseas in 2027, where they will gain international gameplay experience and represent the Western Cape.

Previous Tour
In October 2024, our team travelled to Spain. Through fundraising efforts and community support, we were able to contribute toward accommodation and some transportation costs.

Fund Allocation
90% of funds raised go directly toward the team’s tour expenses, primarily accommodation.
10% is allocated to transaction fees and marketing costs.

Competition closes 15 August 2026 at 11:59am. Winner will be announced on 16 August 2026.

PRIZE:

There will be one (1) winner.

Winner will be emailed. This competition ends 15 August 2026 at 11:59am.

Winner will be announced and/or contacted on 16 August 2026.

Course to be claimed during the months of September – November 2026.

Any lessons missed will not be refunded or roll over.

Each course is 12 weeks long.
Lessons are every Thursday from 7-9pm and coaches take you through a thorough programme to teach you each skill needed in a considered timeframe.
Self practice on the sidelines is available every Tuesday evening from 7-9pm.

Time: 7–9pm (Thursdays & Tuesdays)
Duration: Approximately 12 weeks with 12 lessons and 12 self practice sessions  (24 opportunities to skate)
Location: Sunningdale Sports Complex (Blouberg area)

Please note that skates & safety gear fee covers rental for self-practice evenings as well. 

Helmets + Safety Gear are mandatory.
